you're wasting my time!

Ello Folks,

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance..." Ecclesiastes 3:1-4. The above scripture implies that life is a series of seasons and their are specific activities etc. that needs to be done during each season. Yet, daily we are bombarded with numerous responsibilities, options and choices as it relates to our time. Some of which are irrelevant and unimportant to the stage or season we are in our lives. It is important that we realize the season we are in so we can get the most out of that period. Remember, seasons are not forever and usually benefits us the most if they involve some type of growth in areas of our lives. I am currently in a season of learning, both spiritual and academic. I'll call it that for lack of a better word. I'm a full time graduate student who work over 30 hours per week. It's very hectic and exhausting. There are many nights that I have left the library after midnight and was up at 7:00 a.m. for work. I have had to sacrifice a lot including my social life, hanging out and watching TV. Additionally I have had to make a conscious effort to keep God at the forefront and at times have neglected to spend quality time with him. It seems I am always on the go and as such have used my car, my desk, and the library as places of worship. Moreover, I try to always be in Church on Sundays whenever I am in town. We all have numerous activities competing for our time. It is important that you recognize your season and prioritize your activities accordingly. It may require giving up old habits and activities for example TV, but these activities will always be there. Continue to make time for God no matter how hectic the schedule gets as we need his strength, wisdom and direction. If you don't already know, pray and ask God to show you your purpose and start working on it! Remember "Be very careful, then how you live-not as unwise but as wise. Making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:15-16. We are wise when we maximize every opportunity (time) to do the will of God and fulfill his purpose for our lives. What are you doing with your time? Have an effective week!
