The essence of salvation involves being saved through faith in the blood of Jesus - Acts 4:12. It results from our confession of faith in Jesus - Rom 10:9-10.To me, salvation means deliverance and reveal my worth to God! It is a testimony of his unfailing love- Psalm 85:7. Salvation provides deliverance from a destructive way of life that I did not have the will power to change on my own.
It provides a more powerful alternative to truly living whole and succesfull in every sense of the word! Because of salvation I now have the power and help through Christ to change my life! Its amazing what knowledge can do! Before I understood what salvation offers, I spent my life trying to be good to the best of my ability. Probablylike many of you I use to beat up on myself when I missed the mark. I also felt inadequate and unworthy. It seem as if I was never going to get it rightso why try? Once I learned how God viewed me, who I am in Christ and the price Jesus paid for my deliverance ie. salvation, over time I began to view myself differently. It did take a while to come to terms with his love for me and my true value. I now strive to align my actions with God's view of me. Now when I miss the markI try to counteract the unworthy feelings by running to him, ask for forgiveness and get back to being who he says I am.
As my understanding of salvation grew, so did my self esteem and my confidence in who I am. If God was willing to send his only son to die such a gruesome death, then he mustthink I am something special! No matter what my circumstances or situation says. The good news is that salvation is available to all of us. We simply need to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and begin to learn and walk in his ways.Salvation speaks of our worth and value to God. So if you have accepted Jesus and hence have the gift of salvation, remember who you are, your worthand value when you feel depressed. Remember the price he paid to secure a relationship with you, when temptations are snapping at your heels. Never give up and keep close to him no matterwhat as he loves and values you more than you can ever imagine! Start acting, behaving and believing in what God says about you, based on the price of salvation!!
