trust me

I think that now after many years I have finally realized what trusting in God is! I spent years and years asking God to help me trust in Him and I spent years and years saying that I trusted God, but all the while I didn't really understand HOW to trust Him.

One of the meanings of trust is "to show confidence in a person by entrusting (him) with something".

So HOW can we trust God? How do we show Him that we trust Him? What can we DO to show God that we trust HIM? We can give him our life by living it the way that He has told us to live it. He gave us His Word - the Bible. In the Bible He gives us guidelines and rules to live by. There have been many times in my life that it may have seemed like what the Bible said to do was too hard or just didn't make sense at all!

But I have learned that if I trust God then I will do what the Bible says to do even when it seems too hard or even when it doesn't make sense....when I don't have enough money I should tithe anyway; That even if I love my boyfriend with all my heart I should not have sex with him until we are married; That even if I don't think my parents understand, I should still honor and obey them.

When I trust God, I will do what he says even when it doesn't make sense to him. Why? Because I trust HIM - I have confidence in Him- that he is saying what he says for a reason - for my own good. I trust that HIS way is better and that doing it HIS way will get me to where I want to be.

When you don't trust God, you will find an answer to what you are going through in the bible and do it your own way anyway. Why? Because you didn't trust and believe that God's way is better. You believed that your own way was better. And let me tell you that when I have decided to do things my own way, I always ended up with the problem being bigger than when I started!

Today, when I think that I will never get a particular blessing that I want I remember that, if I trust God, I will do what he says, the way that He says to do it. Because I trust (believe and have confidence) that He, who created everything, will bless me when the timing is right!
